Everything imaginable. Lots of diapers and formula. Baby wipes, diaper rash cream, baby powder. Spit-up towels. Soft blankets. Hypo-allergenic laundry detergent. Pacifier, baby themometer, baby Tylenol. Onesies, pajamas, bassinet. First-aid kit, baby monitor, baby shampoo and bubblebath. Car seat, warm clothing including a hat, baby carrier. Some kind of anti-bacterial cream, bottles with nipples for newborns. That should get you started.

Well before the baby comes you will need to have: clothes, diapers, baby wipes, formula and bottles (if bottle feeding), blankets. A warm dry comfy place for baby to sleep. A good car seat( buy a good one). After baby is born you can decide what you need like more blankets and onesies.A crib can be bought later, a high chair later, but you may be glad to have a swing. I wouldnt be without a swing. You can spend a fortune on things for baby but these are the basics. Later a couple good baby gates will come in handy.

I would buy at least a crib, including the mattress and sheets. A dresser, or changing table with drawers, a diaper pail, at least one package of newborn diapers.(Not too many as babies don't stay in them long). Maybe a baby monitor, child proofing items for the house(plugs for outlets). You will also need some clothes which are good for either sex. Blankets, grooming aids, and some formula(if you aren't going to breast feed exclusively.). That's just a start. If someone holds a baby shower that's icing on the cake. Oh, and an infant car seat/baby carrier.

diapers, soaps, lotions, diaper rash cream, formulas, etc...The kinda things you can never have too much of. If you're having a shower, you will get a LOT of clothes, toys, and stuff like that.
Go to EBAY and look under baby items. You can buy lots of stuff (a 'lot' is when a seller sells an assortment of items). They generally have these for clothes (generally used, but used baby clothes are typically ok, considering they're not worn for very long) and toys. Most sellers even clean the toys, although I would disinfect again. It's a great way to get a bunch of stuff at a great price! Before you get clothes and toys though, wait for the shower!

Hmmm.

Bouncy Seat (awesome for lounging, baby food, playing with toys)
Diapers
Diaper bag
Desitin
Formula
Bottles - decide which kind you're going to use.
Extra binkies (pacifier) There's nothing more irritating than not being able to find the kid's binky and then not having any extra's on hand
Wipes - Walmart has a HUGE thing of wipes you can get cheap.
Soft blankies
A swing (we liked the one that was close to the floor with lights and vibration)
changing table
toys

Plenty of nappies.Stock up onall your household products so you dont have to shop as much. Freeze quantities of food because when you have a baby schedule of housework goes right out the window. which includes cooking. You might be tired from having to get up throughout the night so make sure you have a nap when the baby is asleep. Enjoy your baby.

diapers (newborns), onsies, wipes, bottles, baby laundry detergent (all their clothes have to be washed before they wear them also), a crib, a mattress, sleepers (outfits), a car seat, a diaper bag is helpful, i would invest in a swing (very helpful when they won't sleep) blankets, crib sheets, pacifers, burp clothes
i suggest a baby shower cause i got all this stuff from family and friend plus more BUT you don't really NEED anything other than this stuff

Car seat. I don't know about all, but many hospitals won't let you take the baby out unless it is in one. Diapers (preferably cloth for the environment), receiving blankets, bassinet or crib or carriage, baby wipes or cotton wash cloths, baby powder, sleepers, a warm blanket, booties and hat (if their head and feet are warm they tend to be comfortable, soother.
