Wow... I am going to address this to every student who reads this... regardless of the level of education. This is a very specific problem.. a lot smaller than you realize. The only person who decides the grade is the teacher.. no one else. You could move a mountain and if it isn't what will make the teacher raise your grade - it was useless. Ask for a special 10 minutes with each of them, ask them "what do I need to do to raise my grade?" They may say "not possible" Do not accept that..ask again until they tell you how. You kids don't realize this, but the only reason why the teacher won't tell you how to raise your grade is because either they don't believe you are serious (based on your previous attitude) or they don't believe you can (based on your previous actions). You have to convince them that you will do WHATEVER they assign to raise your grade. You may need to get angry at yourself enough to look them in the eye and say it with conviction. .. Then whatever they say - do it, because it is your last chance of having any credibility at all with any of the other teachers in the school as well. They talk and your rep gets around... IF, and I don't know any teachers that would, you can't get a positive assignment out of them, then you need to tell your counselor, or the principal. Repeat the facts, no sob story, they expect children to whine about something they don't like. Show them how mature you are and so completely focused. Another thing you are not realizing is that you are stepping square onto the teacher's value to the school. Teachers criticized for being hard or strict are appreciated by the administration.... but a teacher who refuses to respond to a student's demand for schoolwork that will earn (NOT GIVE) him a higher grade is suspect and considered shirking the main focus of their whole profession. You will not need to tell them that and don't let on that you know or they will have to defend the teacher. Your attitude is something like - I want to work out an agreement here to raise my grades and the teacher is not cooperating. kinda like why unions sue company's to get the government to set in and force a negotiation. Remember the entire school system is there to get you better grades..if you ignore it or decide to coast -you got what you earned (deserved) but if you really want more, the administration will bend over backwards to get you the opportunity for YOU to make more of yourself. By the way... you do realize that since your grades are averaged, your semester grades will never hit 100% unless you are earning extra-credit... make sure and see if you can get all the special assignments as extra credit... or just decide that you are gonna get straight A's for every quarter from now on.

study and do good on tests, pay attention in class, do all homework and class work and dont be afraid to ask. if you need help or arent understanding something ask the teacher or a friend who know what they are talking about for help. doing extra credit is also a good idea.

Start hitting the books hard. Ask your teacher questions and clarifications on points you don't understand and see if extra credit may be offered.
