put cheese and/or sour cream and crackers in it. Not only does it taste really good, but it takes away the spicyness too. If everyone doesn't like cheese or sour cream, just put it in your indvidual serving. that way everyone can have it how they like it.

You can try serving over rice or spaghetti. Also you can "dilute" with adding more meat (hamburger) and beans (canned along with beef broth or beef gravy (use chicken if your recipe is not beef based). Then adjust other seasonings other than those that gave it the extra heat. This will thin things out and if too runny add corn starch or flour to thicken again. Also, serve bread, corn bread or tortillas which calm the heat. Also for future note I found that when cooking with fresh chillies you can cut down the heat by removing seeds and the whitish membrane from the chili during preparation. It can be a rough balancing act as far getting the flavor and not burning off your tongue if you are a tender tongue like me.

In already made chili you can add tomatoes to it and calm the heat from the jalapeno. If it is cooked chili then cook the tomatoes and crush them before adding to the chili. If it is fresh then chop up the tomatoes raw before adding them to the chili. I learned this from my mom she won prizes for her chili "salsa". I hope that I've been some help to you.

get some fritos, cheese, sour cream, onions, and maybe even some lettuce (optional, i guess its all optional though) and some of your chili and mix it all together in a bowl, and enjoy. you wont want to eat chili any other way after you try it this way. at least i dont.
this also helps to tone down the heat.

stir in more tomato sauce, also serve with a lot of rice and milk as a drink, because those are the best things to reduce heat.

it will get "cooler" the longer it sits (overnight in the fridge, etc).
Other than that, you can add another can of beans, maybe some V-8 and serve it over mac like the others said.
mmmmm...chili....I'll have some right now please!
