"Lil Arthur" Jack Johnson from Galveston, Texas who beat Tommy Burns for the heavyweight crown in Sydney, Australia in 1908 and lost it to Jess Willard in Havana, Cuba in 1915. Nat Fleischer of Ring Magazine ranked him as the greatest heavyweight champion ever. Good question Smitty and Happy King Day!

Jack Johnson and they made a movie about him starring James Earl Jones called Great White Hope.

They attacked him from every angle but he was unstoppable after him I don't think there was another black heavyweight champ until Joe Louis.
