Someplace hot is South East Asia. Places like Bangkok, Thailand or Bali, Indonesia is always full of tourists. And many of them are single backpackers, so you will definitely meet people easily there.

Another recommendation is Australia. I'm a single gal and have travelled to a few places in Australia. I found no trouble at all. I felt safe all the time. And I met wonderful people over there, many of whom were travelling alone too.

If you are thinking of going now, then the Caribbean is ideal. There will be lots of Americans and Canadians there to meet and make friends with if you want a break from the Brits. Weather will be really nice now and of course if you go all inclusive you won't have to worry about anything when you get there. January/Feb time there should be some good deals about.

Lots of great places in Spain. Hottest on the south coast (Costa del Sol). Look up tourist board information for any country for weather patterns month by month. My favourite Spanish place is Benidorm on the Costa Blanca. The Rough Guide to Spain is very snobbish about anywhere that is popular with tourists, but you can get natural beauty, easy access to cultural monuments, plus lots of life, and plenty of people your own age in the summer here. In winter, the old 'uns make their escape from grey skies and live it up in Benidorm.

how about learning to sail in greece, everyone will be in the same boat! Or learn to dive. When you are doing an activity there is always something to talk about. I have done these holidays alone. Try skiing,it can be hot even in the snow and it is fun

If you are looking for a party atmosphere try Ibiza a small island off the coast of Spain. Its like Spring Break all year long.

you would be better of with a companion but give Fiji a try, beautiful beaches, great food and wall to wall sun. The biggest worry you would have there is having a coconut hit you as it comes down to be eaten. It takes me about 20 - 30 minutes to open a nut, the locals do it in five seconds but my method makes them taste better when I finally get inside, and I stand there covered in sweat drinking the cool milk............... Joy...........

My brother just went on holiday to thailand on his own, the holiday he booked was for single people, but it wasn't a dating holiday, just lone travellers. Ask your travel agent for information on travelling alone and watch out for the single suppliment charges.

you should consider a cruise
a lot of people will not realize you are on your own or even care, your entertainment is put on for you their will be people their to eat and drink with. The ship is always busy and you can move from bar to bar and deck to deck. You will always meet people sunbathing during the evening on deck,Go for it
