the compensation is for the individual with the Syndrome ONLY. So no you can not get the compensation for someone who died. You may be able to request compensation for medical bills related to the syndrome, but the VA should have taken care of your Uncle if he was diagnosed with it.

What did they pay as a death benefit? $600 or $2000?
