If so, when do you think it will take place?

In WWII, the Germans learned to turn coal into gasoline. For decades it was more expensive to do this than use oil. Now the reverse is true. Also before that time diesel engines were created so farm workers could use their own mulch to drive their own farm equipment. Even today, diesel engines can run around on corn, bean or peanut oil.

Also, hydrogen ran over platinum will cause electricity. That knowlege is what runs fuel cells.

Salt use to be imporant. People fought war over salt. Now salt is taken for granted because we all know how plentiful salt really is. The same is going to happen to energy and the way to do that is to make alternative energy cheaper than oil.

It already is one of the causes, and the war is already global. The west versus the east, the fight over rather the Oil rich nations will trade oil to the increasingly industrialized China and Russian nations or the Western Allies. However, if global warning accelerates and the masses the world over are hard hit with poverty that these changes make by destruction of crops and inhabitable lands, then the USA with the more fertile and less affected lands will become a point of struggle the people will seek control over.

A "global war" over oil is NOT going to take place, because once there are enough intelligent men/women in government, a new source of energy will actually be used and ideas about it expanded. Still very few countries would participate in this war.

yes i do, but at the same time no i dont, you see there may be a war if we keep pussyfooting wiht the nations that supply oil, instead of making alternative means to run our cars and machines and such. And when...i would say in the next oh 10-20 years i would think and if not when oil does run out we are gonna have a huge war over it.and remember that is only an estimate 100 years, we really dotn know whe nthe oil can run out, it coudl run out at any second or in a 10 or 100 years so yeh

no, there may be disputes and small "police actions" but most of the world will not get into a fight over oil. There are all the alternate fuels available and in development. There is even a new car company coming out with an all electric line of cars starting late 2007.

Yes, it is inevitable. It started in 1960 when the patriotic revolutionary leader of Iraq; Abdul Karim Qasim created OPEC. Since then, America worked on his assassination. The first 38 attempts against his life failed, but the 39th one was a success.

In 1973, the Arab petroleum exporting countries laid an embargo over exporting oil to America and Holland for their Zionist affections. The prices of oil jumped 500%. In retaliation, America ordered the assassination of Saudi King Faisal, who was killed in 1975.

The American invasion of Iraq in 2003 came as a war for oil in reality. The Islamic world possesses 72.2% of the world's total oil reserves. After Iraq, America will head for Iran. Again, Afghanistan is the gate to Islamic Central Asia; a very rich oil producer. Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf countries are already in America's hands.

You must know that the American plan to put troops in Darfur came after oil was found in abundance in this region.

In short, it seems that the scientists' efforts to produce a widespread alternative for oil as a source of energy is not working. America is sure to get her desired supplies of oil without needing to be threatened. The European powers and China will try to halt the American initiative to dominate the countries that have huge amounts of oil reserves. This may lead to war between them.

Lets check the market on OIL - since I do the stock market I can assure everyone who assumes that we are getting Iraq oil it just is not true. Not a single drop of OIL in Iraq has come to this country. Only 8 percent of all oil products come from the middle east - Christ does not anyone do their homework.

a global war over oil means the end of oil, so it is impossible directly. but indirectly a struggle has already begun. in this century "war" changed meaning=local-civilized-more brutal and controllable...like before a new colonization war is impossible. a third world war may be over oil but im sure that the fourth one will be over/with stones:)
