I'm flying into Reagan National for the first time and would like to know a bit more about how long it would take to get from Reagan National to Union Station in NE on a Saturday morning. I've budgeted an hour and forty-five minutes...is that enough time? How convenient and how expensive is the public transport from Reagan National?
Any advice on this would be very much appreciated!

You can be there in 30 minutes, easily. Walk out the airport to the Metro, buy a ticket and then: Take the Yellow line six-stops to Gallery Place-Chinatown, then the Red Line two-stops to Union Square. Cost is US$1.35 to US$1.75 for peak hours.

That is plenty of time and it is very easy and inexpensive to do. There is a Metro (subway) station literally connected to the airport and is about a 2 minute walk from baggage claim at the airport. There are plenty of signs - it's well marked and it's also a small and easy airport to fly into. The airport Metro station is on both the Blue and Yellow lines, and Union Station is on the Red Line so you'll have to change trains but that is very easy to do. It shouldn't cost you more than $3 something depending on whether it's rush hour or not. But like I said, it's very convenient and easy, and there will be people around to help as well if you need it.

It's simple because there is a Metro stop at Reagan, and another Metro stop at the Mall (if that's where you're headed, if not there are dozens of other stops downtown).

Probably take like 20 minutes and 2-3 bucks.

Reagan National is JUST over the D.C. line and the metrorail will take you directly to the Union Station stop.

Metro subway sytem is convenient and inexpensive. About a half hours trip without the hassle of parking a car. Taxi is a bit more expensive but will cut our trip to about 15 minutes.
