yup..you have a cat in season..wanting to mate. But don't rush her to vet as they will charge you extra for spaying while in season. Keep her confined and away from any males. Once this behavior stops then immediately make appointment for spaying if you don't want her to mate. Heavens but i know what she and you are going through! But what i do with a cat in that condition is to just pat her gently just behind the tail..this seems to calm for a bit. Source: have had many cats depending on me in my day!

Has she been spayed yet? If not she may well be in season. Cats in season tend to make a lot of noise and rub against things. If your other cat is an entire male - be careful! Once she comes out of season seriously consider getting her spayed.
If she's already spayed, does she look like she's in distress or pain? Any other signs? If you're concerned a trip to the vet would be worthwhile.

Maybe she is comming into season? Has she been spayed?
Classic signs of season are: Calling (howling), rolling around, rubbing on things and sticking her bum up in the air!!!
You will have to wait two weeks after she has finished her season before a vet will spay her (So keep her inside). Spaying normaly costs around £40

The other one probably told her a really good cat joke (apart from the face rubbing thing which is normal cat behaviour due to scent glands in their cheeks). If you have access to the intercat check out the acronym ROFLMTO at uk.miaow.paws (this is the feline equivalent of Yahoo!, but you will need a whiskerin and passmiaow for access)

It sounds as if your cat is in season and calling for her mate, 10months is the usual age for female cats to come into season and ready to be mated. I have two female cats around the same age, one was more mature than the other and came into season a little while before the other.

She's in season and wants a tom cat NOW!...hence the howling or yolding. Get her fixed ASAP, and that will stop. >^..^< And should you have an unfixed male in the house keep them apart, or your going to have a bunch of little moggies running around.

My guess is that the cat is female and has not been spayed. If this is the case, she's in heat.
Unless you want kittens, don't let her outside. I would check with your vet as to how soon you can have her spayed. If you cannot afford it, a quick Internet search will give you low cost or no cost places to get her spayed if you cannot afford it.

The cat is in heat by the sounds of it. Time for a vet visit to be fixed.

Perhaps their in heat. I had 2 male kittens and one of them would howl and jump on the back of the other making the motion.
