I have a daughter, and she is not yet of dating age in my opinion. But my husband and I discussed this matter and we both agreed on 16 with a curfew and in public places. We also want to know where she is going, so we could just "pop" in on them. I wouldn't go over to the table, or in the movie she was in, but I would make it known that she only has so many free acts as a teenager. If she doesn't like it than she can just stay home, and also I wouldn't do it all the time.
If my parents were like that at least I would have known they cared about my well being. Instead of just saying no.
Oh yeah, I would like to meet him as well.

Well, it really depends on the child. I personally do not believe that you can tell your kids not to date. I believe that if you leave it up to them to date and to make their own decisions based within yours then they will make good choices. Basically, you pick A, B or C and then they can pick one of those three. So, you are still helping them along but they are making their own decisions.

I think that at least wait unitll they are 12 or older plus you should get to know the guy before but don't pressure him with questions. That would just make the date be nerve wrecking.

When they are ready. I cant answer that until I have my own kids, plus I think whoever my husband would be would like to be a part of that decision.

Never! Maybe their senior year of high school, but then again a parent really doesn't have control over these things.
