my kitten will no use his litter box when im home unless i open the lid and sift the litter, even if its completely clean...he's absolutely healthy! no worms, no infections...what can i do?

I had the same problem it ended up being the litter I used. The cat didn't like the smell of it or the texture.. We changed the litter and also got a self cleaning litter box and have not had a problem since. Hope it all works out.

Try another brand of kitty litter. My kittens would not use the typical litter like Johnny Cat so I ended up getting the $13.00 bag that is like crystals and no problems after that.
Picky just like their mama!

Well you could get a litter box that cleans itself.

Sounds like the lid may be too hard for him to open himself.

Have your vet. examine him and have his urine checked to make sure he is healthy then your vet. can help you correct the behavior.
