I just recently purchased a couch and asked that same question to the sales guy. He informed us that the bank holds the warranty so if the furniture company goes under, the warranty is still good and the bank will take whatever means necessary in order to make good on fixing or replacing the furniture. Do you have any kind of receipt from the purchase? Did you make payments to a bank? If so then you should start there. If not, then look into contacting some sort of consumer watchdog organization. I hope it works out for you, I was never a fan of warrantees for that exact reason which is why this time around we asked up front...who's to say that the bank will actually make good on this though.
