and where did the derogatory term 'pigs' come from?

the police badge is made out of copper...so back in the day they called them coppers
but they shortened to cops

Cops comes from the The Copper badge that they used to wear and Pigs comes from the 60's when they were called facist pigs.

Short for Copper!, Pigs I assume is for Chauvinist-could be because with their requirements for being clean shaved and consuming donuts, they resemble them!?
