Well, they're going to be expensive anyway. You have to see a Dr. and get a prescription, even if they have no vision correction.

Depending on where you live, this exam will run you $50 - $100 pr more, plus the cost of the contacts.

Because they contacts go inside your body (in your eye) they're regulated by the FDA.

Be careful using contacts just to change eye color. Contacts can carry a lot of bacteria into your eyes. You must handle them scrupulously and realize they are not toys. I need contacts to see. But I also wear glasses. One time, after not wearing my contacts for a long while, I finally put them in. Oh, did I get a surprise. I got such an eye infection. I had to use antibiotic eye drops for months to clear it. And why did this happen? Because you can't leave them sitting for long periods of time without changing the solution, disinfecting even the case they're sitting in. Bacteria breeds in anything, even a sterile solution because always something will have touched the lens while you're putting them away. Contacts are a big responsibility. Use eye makeup to enhance your eyes. Changing the color will never be permanent so why bother? My sister was obsessed with color contacts. And this was hiding an underlying personal problem. It could indicate your possible lack of self-love and acceptance. Be the best you can be. So someone has beautiful blue or brown eyes, admire them but see your own beautiful features. I think it's such a waste of time and effort for people, especially us females, fretting so much about our physical appearances. It's part of a bigger picture that women should become more aware of. Why the promotion of color contacts? Because some genius thought up another way to get a dollar. Unless you have one eye one color and one another, I see no need to think your natural eye color is inferior and you need to have contacts to improve it. All this "improve" crap. Yes, look your best, but use common sense and ask what's behind the push for you to do so? Yep, money for the other guy. Your eyes don't need another color! Love your eyes, they're made for seeing! And they are beautiful!

Contacts range anywhere from $20 or so to $70 for a month and a half supply. If you were just interested in contacts to change your eye color, I would recommend the Freshlook line by Ciba Vision. Focus monthly (also by Ciba vision) have colored contacts too. If you've never worn contacts before, you'll need to have a contact fitting and training. If it's been more than a year since your last eye exam you'll also need an eye exam. If you only wear the contacts for special ocassions the month and a half supply (for everyday wear) would last a lot longer.
