If your TSH is over 3.0 after a morning test, you are hypothyroid especially if you are experiencing symptoms. Because the TSH test is influcenced by time of day, testing in the afternoon could stop a diagnosis. It did with me. Luckily a year later I was tested again in the morning and the TSH was finally above the 5.5 and I got on meds. AACE recommds treatment at 3.0, where most labs still use outdated ranges as high as 5.5. Get more testing in the morning. Ask for a free t4, free t3, and antibody test. To feel well, most need the free t4 midrange or higher and free t3 high in range. If the free t3 comes in below midrange, then it suggests you should start on a thyroid med that has T3 in it like Armour.
Belw is a good thyroid link. Read up on it so that you can discuss things with your doctor. You are most like hypoactive now. Don't wait until the symptoms are severe.

I would reccomend seeing another doctor. Your thyroid condition could also change in the future, therefore it needs to be monitored. If you are having these symptoms, then you should be either receiving treatment, or you should be tested to see what else could cause you to feel depressed and fatigued. Symptoms such as yours should never go unchecked or unmonitored.
Also, if possible, see an endrochronologist. They specialize in the diseases and treatment of the body's glands, such as the thyroid, pituitary, and pancreas. They may be able to create a treatment plan that will better suit your needs.

you should go see another doctor as most doctors would have done something. the doctor will probably put you on a medication to control it. don't wait for this doctor and get another appt as soon as possible becuase the thyroid is a very important gland. ask the doctor about Synthroid as that is the medication they use to control the thyroid as my dad was on it. Good Luck!

Making dietary changes is your first line of defense in treating hypothyroidism. Learn here https://tr.im/q15Y5
Many people with hypothyroidism experience crippling fatigue and brain fog, which prompts reaching for non-nutritional forms of energy like sugar and caffeine. I’ve dubbed these rascals the terrible twosome, as they can burn out your thyroid (and destabilize blood sugar).
1. Just say no to the dietary bungee cord. Greatly reduce or eliminate caffeine and sugar, including refined carbohydrates like flour, which the body treats like sugar. Make grain-based carbohydrates lesser of a focus, eating non-starchy vegetables to your heart’s content.
2. Up the protein. Protein transports thyroid hormone to all your tissues and enjoying it at each meal can help normalize thyroid function. Proteins include nuts and nut butters; quinoa; hormone- and antibiotic-free animal products (organic, grass-fed meats, eggs, and sustainably-farmed fish); and legumes.

i would ask again to be put on a low dose of thyroid medication, if your doctor doesn't want to, ask to be referred to an endocrinologist, thats what my doctor did and they treat thyroid disfunction a bit more aggressively than a primary physician does. If he or she says no, then I would seek out a new doctor.
good luck
