I would have to say you are depressed. Seriously though, I think you've got every right to be. Look at the crap you kids deal with these days. I think your probably in a different state of mind, aside from your peers. It won't last forever. My brother did the same thing when he was younger. I think some people don't want to be apart of the crowd and then feel a rejection brought on by their own abstinence. You need to start to develop friendships with people who are not into being identified by who they hang around. A word of advice, don't get on anti-depressants. They are drugs and drugs never have any good outcome. Your just coming into your own and starting to look and understand the world your surrounded by. The feeling of not wanting to do anything but sleep is depression. Someday it will be different. The world is big and full of people and someday you will be out in it too. Just now your still at home and starting to need a little more space. My suggestion is to put an H on your chest and handle it. Then take care of the college thing and you will be on your way. TRUST ME life will get better for you. God Bless...

Well if this is signs of depression did something happen to you recently that you are depressed about or did you just get into a funk? It could be that you are getting too much sleep. That will also cause a state that you will not want to do anything. We dont know if something has happened to you so only you can answer if you are depressed. To me it sounds like you are a teenager that is ready to make big plans and take big steps into the future....if you are not ready to do that.....slow down but get up every morning and get dressed and try to do different things instead of going back to sleep. You might just be in a funk and need to get out of it.

Yes, you most likely are depressed. I have suffered from it for years. You probably should talk to a psychologist. Don't feel stupid about that either. I didn't treat mine for about 6 years and was a basket case. Willpower is tough, but if you can start getting up and getting out of your room it will help. I know it's not easy but try to get in motion. As lame as it sounds, try going out for regular walks (got a dog? a friend that would join you?).
I'll end by saying being depressed SUCKS and I wish you the best of luck trying to overcome it.

Do you feel like talking to anyone about it? It does sound a little like depression so the best thing to do would be talk to a counselor, friend or your parents. It could also be a health issue. Being tired all the time could be linked to health problems. Talk to your parents and let them know how you feel. Has something happened to you recently or did this just come out of the blue? I hope you get some help and feel better!

It definitely sounds like depression. The good news is that your parents are showing concern which should make it easier to talk to them. Tell them exactly what you just stated above. There are different types of help and they can see that you get what you need. I am speaking from experience and believe me, with the proper help you can feel better. Good luck sweetie. Now go talk to your parents.

I'm not sure what this has to do with Singles & Dating (try posting in Mental Health) but yes, those are definite signs of depression. Perhaps the folks in the other category can give you some support. Do see about getting help though. Life can be grand again.

You need to see a doctor and have some testing done to find out why you are so sleepy all the time. Sounds like you might have a physical condition, like diabetes. Also, you should get some mental therapy. Depression is a serious illness and you do sound very depressed!

you are depressed. what u need to do now, is sit down, and think about where that depression comes from. think about skool, home, & relationships, or it just might be hormones. try working out , or going to the beach. read a nice book, or talk to a friend about how u feel. seek doctor if you start thinking of suicide. but i believe you are a strong girl, and you will get over this hard period of time with the help of your family and friends. just think as the new day, as a gift from god. because everyday is a gift.
good luck, and remember, keep your chin up,a nd don't let the depression take over your life.

This is most certainly a depressive episode and you must seek help from your doctor. Sleeping all the time means you dont have to face the world awake and this is more appealling - I do this when I am depressed.
