I don't really think there is an OTC that will help you accomplish this goal. I mean if you just want to be knocked out you can take some Advil PM or Tylenol PM. I think one of the strongest OTC for me is Aleve. You have to be careful with them though, they are very harsh on your stomach. I am going to venture to say that over the counter IS over the counter b/c it is non narcotic. The really strong stuff that relieves the type of pain that needs to be "numbed" must be controlled by prescription. Good luck, sorry for your pain.

There isn't anything you can get over the counter that is "almost numbing". Aspirin and ibuprofen are about the strongest things on the market, although some people like naproxen (Aleve). None of those will do more than relieve an ordinary headache or muscle or joint ache.
If your pain is that bad, you need to see your doctor.

Arthritis medications work well for pain relief, Vioxx, celebrex,

Usually it is Ibuprofen for me that gets rids of headaches and backaches and everything else in my body that is in pain.

I usually find my pain relievers laying on the ground. They work great.. but since they are just pills laying around at my subway... I don't know what they are called.
