good question!
i've always wondered why they adamantly profess their beliefs (faith) as truth, when the definition of faith (one def.) is: "firm belief in something for which there is no proof"
but they try & say there IS proof! if there was, then they wouldn't have "faith" in god, they'd have the "scientific theory" of god.

Faith is not wishful thinking- faith is simply "what" you believe. It can be true or false. You don't have to believe something in order for it to be true, or false. If it is true-then it is true regardless of what you or anyone else thinks. Do you believe that evolution is true? If so, then you "have faith" in what someone told you about evolution. But, that does not make it true. Why do evolutionist try to mix evolution with science? There is no scientific basis for it, only speculation-that is, this is what many scientist "think", not what they know.
So--------why do .."you".. lump truth and faith together?

No, faith does not make anything true. But christians know that there is a Father up above who loves His people unconditionally and we have faith that that is the truth!!!

No and true faith is only faith in truth. What makes a true saving faith is believing God. If He is not true there is no true faith anywhere.

You're confusing faith and hope.
There's a lot of things I hope are true, there's alot of things I hope will be true. This is not faith.
Heb 11:1
faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
KJV
Faith is when I make decisions based upon what I believe is true. Like when I decide to live my life according to the righteousness of Christ rather than the way of the culture around me.
The substance of the "faith" is the actual doing, not just the believing. The evidence, then, is the resulting outcome. The reaping of the promises both in this life and in eternity.

God told us there are good things in this life to hope for and have faith in, Jesus one of them. Therefore we are responding to what God has already said, not inventing anything. If you have a problem with faith, take it up with God.

Faith and truth are two different things presently. Why do you presently in the'question'
above assume they are the same (identical)?

i think it isn't lumped together. i believe it is layered. more like a foundation. one cannot exist without the other. based on truth, faith is in believing without seeing. you know in your heart what is the right thing to do, you know what you should do . sometimes the knowing is blocked with memories, instilled beliefs, cultures and personal opinions. that which is true, will stand fast. that which is based on lies, will collapse. maybe not right away, maybe it will. it depends on how aware the human is of their condition(s). sometimes lessons are unnoticed, sometimes they are right in front of you. sometimes they speak through friends, families, colleagues. sometimes you are so moved, you cant speak, sometimes knowing in your own heart reveals itself in its own time...........

Faith & wishful thinking are not the same thing, but it appears that you've decided to believe that they are.
