I think if your ok with her throwing it and nobody else asked before then go for it. If you'd rather do it yourself then politely tell her that.
I think the best time would be from seven months onward you dont want to be so far gone that your too tired for a party, or worse there's a chance you might go into labour at the party!
I wish baby showers were a bigger deal in the uk, they sound such fun. Enjoy yours and enjoy the new baby!

No, for heaven's sakes, of course not! There's nothing at all wrong with a parent throwing a shower. Whomever wants to throw a baby shower may certainly do so, as long as it's okay with the Mom-to-be.
The best time for a shower is after lunch and before dinner on a Sunday from 2-4pm (most often when people are not working) or if a weekend is not convenient or available then a weeknight (not Friday) from 7-9pm.

Well, a lot of pregnant ladies end up having more than one baby shower. Usually one by a family member and one by her friends. Your mother-in-law should consult with you about the baby shower and find out who you would like to invite. Leaving you completely in the dark about it would be rude. As far as timing, most baby showers are thrown in the last couple of months of your pregnancy. Some people even wait to have one until after the baby is born. Congrats!

Sometimes people get two baby showers, one from each side of the family. It doesn't matter who throws it as long as you and your baby are happy with the decision. It is best to wait until the third trimester and a weekend so people can attend. Pregnancy games are more fun when you are futher along.

It depends on if you have female family that wants to throw the shower. If you do they should all be able to participate. If not than I think it is fine if your future iin law throws your party. As for time before you get terribly uncomfortable. So like 6.5-7.5 months i would say.

I don't see the harm in her throwing a shower. Enjoy it. As far as the best time? I suggest no later then a month befor you are due. Maybe a Sunday brunch as a nice restaurant.

If that is who you want then go for it. It is not unethical or bad manners for her to throw a shower if it is what you want.

no anyone can give a baby shower. what do you care, you are getting gifts. what is unethical is the guy not marrying you after finding out you are pregnant. now let's hope that he supports his child and hopefully you make sure he does.
