I'm trying to do a very hard peice of art and i'm wondering what colours should i paint it?

What colours are Medieval???

Well, it depends. Medieval manuscript painting is known for it's riot of colour, especially intense blues (derived from lapis lazuli), crimson reds, bright yellows, etc. They also employed a lot of gold leaf.

Some areas had particular colour preferences. For instance, the Norse (often incorrectly called "The Vikings") liked to dress in blues and greens, but painted objects (like shields, household items, pottery, etc.) in black, white and red more than other colours.

The English in the high middle ages loved red, to the extent that kind of fine British wool called "scarlet" gave it's name the colour it was most often dyed.

What is your art project? That might give you some guidance on making colour choices.
