You are going to feel it no matter where it is. I have two, one on my lower back and one on my left shoulder blade. The best advice I can give you is to make sure you know what you want, because it will be there the REST OF YOUR LIFE! Other than that, I know you can handle it. It just feels like someone is poking you over and over with a straight pin.
Also, make sure you see licenses, that everything is clean, and ask plenty of questions.

You will never be able to get a tattoo without feeling it unless you're paralyzed or some strong medication. Needles penetrating your skin at a high speed naturally is going to cause irritation and/or pain.
Also, pain tolerance is different for everyone in different spots on the body. I personally have 3 tattoos: one of top of my foot, one below my ankle, and another on the small of the back. The one on my foot tickled me a bit. I enjoyed it; While the one on my lower back hurt quite a bit in spots I got teary eyed. Yet, the lady I go to for piercings and tattoos now and is covered with tattoos has a short line on top of her foot because she couldn't handle the pain of it. So as you can tell, it's going to vary per person.
Besides, you shouldn't get a tattoo based on where you think it's going to hurt or not since chances are it's going to hurt any where. Placement should be given a lot of thought. Do you want to be able to hide it? How big is the tattoo you want? You should do what appeals and pleases you in the long run. The pain is always worth it. Good luck!

i've heard a lot of people say that fatty areas hurt the least, but i've found that the one on my hip bone didn't hurt at all, it just tickled.. when it got closer to my stomach (mind you, i don't really have much fat on my stomach) i almost passed out.
it really depends on the person. you won't really know until you get it, so you should just get it wherever would look the nicest and suck it up.
it'll hurt less if you take a couple advil or tylonol beforehand. just make sure it's not aspirin, as it's a blood thinner.
and make sure to drink lots of juice or eat sugary candy beforehand, so you don't pass out!

hehehe...... i know you're joking, right....? yeah, you're gonna feel it no matter what.....
I've got 9 and thought the one on my lower back didn't hurt too bad.... but everyone's different.... best to get it based on where you would really like it, not where you might think it will hurt less..... hehe
And as for all those people who say 'don't do it... blah, blah, blah... do you really think anybody is gonna listen to you? lmao
"oh, gee, 'DIP_SH!T_69' said a tattoo is tacky... better not get one....."
You're wasting your time...!!! People on here ask questions cuz they want advice, not your prejudice......

you're going to feel it regardless of where you get it on your body...outling is 4-6 needles at the same time and shading is 10-12 needles at the same time......there are more painful areas on the body due to the amounts of nerve endings but it's going to hurt nonetheless.
Also - 16 yrs old - you're going to need to have written consent of your legal guardian ....

It's going to sting a little no matter where you get it. Why not on your ankle, hip or shoulder?

No where!
Think hard about getting a tat, its permanent and they won't always be so fashionale as they are now. A lot of businesses don't like to hire people with visible tats. They are tacky and unattractive on women/girls.
