First of all you should try iTunes!

If it does not understand video files you want to load to your iPod, I recommend you to use AVS Video Converter from AVS Video Tools: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/avs-video-tools.htm

It's very simple and just perfect for portable devices owners, because of is its optimized presets for Apple iPod, Sony PSP, Archos DVR, Creative Labs Zen Vision, etc.

Here is a mini-guide:
- download, install and run AVS Video Converter
- open an input file or files
- click To MP4 (MP4 video is an iPod video format)
- select a preset you like
- click Convert Now

That's all! I think it's the best video converter you can get for money.

Also you can read more detailed guide here: http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/avs/video-DVD-to-Apple-iPod-MP4-video.htm

By the way CUCUSOFT, Videora and others only make video for some portable devices, like iPod or PSP, but only AVS Video Converter makes and TRANSFERS video to all these devices without any third party software via Bluetooth or USB!
