I'm considering it but before i do i need to know if it is a benefit. I don't wanna be opening up a can of worms here. If it did work for you how did you feel afterwards? If it didn't did you feel a whole lot worse?

Yes, I have PTSD -- from a couple of sources .. and what the therapy did was to help me make peace with these horrible events in my past so that I could look forward and not have to be bothered as much by the flashbacks or nightmares as before I had the therapy.

Yes it can work, it did for me. I answered your other question too and like I said in that one you need to find a therapist who you can feel comfortable with and be able to trust. This may take a little shopping around but it's possible.
Therapy for PTSD can be tough at times because you'll be going over things from the past that are traumatic. But a good therapist knows how to take things slowly and can recognize if you're feeling too much stress. A lot of PTSD work has to do with managing anxiety and stress, relaxation techniques, building self-confidence, being in tune with your body and emotion regulation so it's not just all about hashing out the past.

There were times when it was hard for me to do but it was definitely worth it and I'm so thankful that I did. It's worth a try, so if I were you I would give it a try. Good luck :)

I have a friend who's been in counseling for PSTD and he says it saved his life. The thing about that can of worms is if you don't start opening it up yourself, those worms find a way of crawling out on their own. I wish you well.

Yes - I have PTSD and have been in therapy for a while. Some sessions just bring up hurt but you need to work through the problems to solve them. It is worth the effort if you really invest yourself in it and are honest with yourself and your therapist

Someone I know was seeing clinical psychologist for PTS, who
performed a techique called EMDR (= Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and it benefited. Counselling did not help her much.

You may feel bad at first, but probably not worse... I think counselling's the best thing for PTSD.

EMDR and somatic experiencing are helpful for PTSD. However, if these are not an option, find a therapist who specializes in trauma.
