Do I take her to an animal shelter? She is sooo sweet but I'm pregnant and I can't afford to keep her. I tried placing an ad but nobody has answered it.

Try to find rescue groups in your area that are no-kill.

Don't take her to a local pound unless you want her to be dead in a week.

Well, is the money issue because she's pregnant, or is the pregnancy just another complication? The puppies would probably be easy to adopt out, since everyone loves puppies!

Try calling your local animal shelter or veterinarian, they might be able to help you find people to adopt your dog & her puppies. If you are going to do that, I'd definitely let the shelter know when she's due, so if you need to give her up ASAP, they can make accomodations (if they can).

It's certainly safer than putting an ad in the paper because (I believe so, anyway) shelters do a tiny bit of screening before adopting animals out.

Good luck!

There is truly no easy answers. Taking the animal to a shelter is as good as sentencing her to death, unless the dog is a puppy, and even then, it is not 100% guaranteed.

Do you have any relatives or friends who would be willing to take her in? If you do, this could be an advantage in the sense that you will be able to see her periodically and you know that she's being well taken care of.

If you don't, look into organizations that will take the dog in, but only if they guarantee you that the dog will not be euthanized.

Noo Shelters are NOT plesant places for animals ...
Try phoning local animal rescue societies - or vets & ask if anyones looking for a dog or Animal rescue 's contact info - you can even search online for a dog rescue too . if he/she is purebreed you can contact the breeder or breed rescues also
good luck

Make a flyer and take it around to the local vet's offices. Most of them have a bulletin board for adoptable pets and such. That way you know it is someone who takes care of their animals.

Petsmart works with rescue. They should work with you. You will have to do something to help her get a good home but if you care you will do as they ask and they will help you.

Try to find a rescue organization to take her so that she is fostered in someones home. Good luck. :)

What kind of dog is she? Give more details and maybe someone from Yahoo!Answers will want to help! (I know, I do)!
