I'm thinking of switching brands, have been using Stevenson Acrylics for years for economy, now price is not a big issue but I do need to be able to buy larger sizes. I might go to Liquitex because I thin my paint a lot, but I wonder how it compares to other products out there.

I believe that if there were test Golden would win out it is not the cheapest which are full of cheap fillers but it is awesome quality paint the inventor worked for years with liquitex and had a non competition agreement with then when it ran out he released his line of Golden acrylic. If you want to give the surface the very best in acrylic you can't do better than those they come in a wide range of color and all sizes of containers check them out you will be glad that you at least tried one portion of one color.

Every artist will have their own preferred brand of acrylic paint, based on things such as the colors available and the consistency of the paint, which ranges from extremely buttery to fluid. My favorite brand of acrylic paint is Golden's Heavy Body acrylics. Golden is an American company created specifically to produce top-quality acrylic paints for artists. I love the range of vibrant colors, which includes an extremely useful set of neutral grays. The paint consistency is very smooth, thinning down for glazes easily.

i like liquitex. but if you use large amounts check on www.dickblick.com for bulk items. I would not suggest using Utrecht brand acrylics if you want true colors...their red is more orange than red....
liquitex is a good one and i think it is available in bulk sizes

Well, i always use 'system 3' acrylic paints. This is the best type that is available to me. there are cheaper type i can get, but i prefer using 'system 3', as they seem to be better quality paints.

I like Golden best.

Longer open time, better consistency out of the tube, largest selection of mediums. Their help line is also very responsive with knowledgeable people on the other end.

I would agree with the golden brand myself. You might try the basic set (yellow, red, blue) to see the difference. Have fun.
