I would recommend getting a trim to remove split ends and then giving yourself some hot oil treatments... try to avoid using all products with alcohol in them... Also, at night before you go to bed, if you shower in the morning, you can either dampen your hair or leave it dry, (this works better if your hair is warm and damp) slather on a moisturizing conditioner and comb it through and sleep with it on... you can put a towel over your pillow... do that as often as you can and you will notice a difference, if you use pert or suave I recommend you stop and switch to finesse, tresemme, herbal essences, garnier fructis, or sunsilk...
for curly hair I REALLY recommend Garnier Fructis Sleek and Shine... its perfect for getting rid of friz and enhancing natural curls..
I hope that helps...

You need to go to a salon and get the dead ends cut off. Then, every 6 weeks, go get your hair trimmed.
I also have damaged hair. I use Pantene daily moisture renewal shampoo and conditioner. I apply biosilk silk therapy to damp hair, then blow dry and style as usual. The last thing I apply is Paul Mitchell super skinny serum.....no mousse, no hairspray, etc.
This daily routine makes my hair look and feel soft, healthy, and shiny.

You need to deep condition it a few times a week, and make sure you have it trimmed professionally at least once a month.
