The pain has gotten worse in the last month. The sciatic nerve runs from my lower right back down my leg. Now my other leg is getting involved with over compensating. Should I seek medical help? I've taken almost 200 tylonel pm's in a month to help with the pain

I treat a lot of sciatica in my profession. I find that a combo of of a really good chiropractor and registered massage therapist does the trick. You'll need to do exercises such as specific stretches and strengthening in order to learn to keep it under control in between appointments and eventually on your own at home.
A chiropractor will ease any pressure the joints may be placing on the nerves, and a massage therapist (a therapeutic kind, not a relaxation type) will ease the pressure the muscles put on the nerve.
Good luck to you - you can overcome this!

Sciatica pain is really bad. I have had it several times. If I were you I would see a Dr. Too much tylonel is bad for you. Sciatica pain is crippling in itself. Keep you leg elevated when you can. For instance put you leg up on a small footstool when washing dishes or standing at the stove, etc. At one time when I had it really bad acupuncture solved the problem. Other times I went to a chiropractor and that helped. You Dr. may suggest a limited amount of pain medication to control the amount of tylenol you absorb and to help you get through the times you have the pain. If you are having it on a regular basis, I would definetly suggest a chiropractor first since the pain is being caused by pressure on a nerve. I have a wonderful one and he has really helped me on many occasions. Good luck.

Sciatica sucks!!! I got it for the 1st time 4 years ago. The most horrible pain you will ever feel. When i first got it at 25 my husband took me to the E.R (in which i couldn't lift my leg up to get in the car it took about 45 mins to get me into the car) and they gave me all kinds of stuff that somewhat relived the pain. When i got it really bad the pain can last for months. The really bad pain lasts for a couple of days in which i couldn't walk. When thats over i still feel the pain in my legs and this is funny but it helped holding my butt when i walked lol. I still get the good ole sciatica at least 1 a year. Try and strenghten you stomach muscles thats what they told me it can help with back pain. I'd definately go see your doctor. Gl to ya

Yes, see your doctor.

Sciatica may not cripple you directly, but the pain most certainly can and does.
