As I have said at least a thousand times. If your dog was more than pet quality. You wouldnt be looking here. You would have people looking for you. Champion lines are just a start . When you can put Champion before your dogs name then you will have owners of dams looking for you. I have a male (SAINT) I may breed in 2008 only after the testing and training and showing and winning will I breed him. I come from a rural area and knew little about this. I am learning, spending and trying. I will not ever breed another dog that is not qualified.

you need to show your dog,,.. if he is of breeding quality you should obtain your championship quickly, after he gets his championship you will have no problem with people calling you for stud dog service,, and it is at the dog shows where you will find other mastiff owners... just because there are champions in your dogs history does not guarantee that he is of breeding quality.. and if you want a puppy,, you should go back to your breeder and purchase another one,, not bring a litter into this world with an uproven stud dog..

By showing your dog and getting to know responsible owners/breeders.
Champion lines??? how close?? Parents & grandparents? anything else and it means nothing and isn't considered champion lines.
Before breeding health tests need to be given and passed...OFA/PennHip, CERF/PRA, thyroid, etc...

putting adds in the newspaper will only get you irresponsible people with low quality dogs to breed and will do absolutely nothing to improve the breed.

Has the dog been shown? Does he have a "Ch" before his name on the AKC registration papers? If not, no one is going to be interested in using your dog @ stud unless you get real lucky by word of mouth.

I know some that live in larger cities that advertise in newspapers .. Most commonly the recommendations will come from a vets office.

Most reputable breeders would not consider using a newspaper. In your advertisement you should mention when your dogs last test for brucilosis was so they will know he is breed worthy.

Good Luck

as what everone said here- the males the breeders are panting over are the winners at westmister ect..... without titles your poor boy is gonna strike out just like the guy in the country song "went to Harvard,, majored in premed, only stayed one semester...."
and in showing him to the title you WILL be noticed by the breeders if he's nice

Neuter him... Unless you plan to have all of the necessary health checks done and show him to make him a Champion. The first answer and St.Lady's answer are both very good. Listen to them!

The internet is a better way to go. You have more control and will not get swamp with people who just want puppies. Check out your breed and find other breeders.

I have decieded to get a Bichon Frise puppy, and found local breeders, plus a lot of helpful information.

you run an ad in your local and regional news papers. you can also advertise on the Internet. but you can also put your name and number at the groomers and vet office. make sure that you give full details on the breeding back ground and that he is AKC.
