I am sorry that you are scared of needles. The doctor will give you a local anesthetic so that you will not feel pain while the test is being done. You may feel an initial sensation, but that will be all.

You are allowed to have your husband in the testing area with you. If you have been attending any birthing classes, you can do some of the visualization and deep breathing exercises prior to the exam to help to keep yourself calm.

The best thing to do is to believe that this test is important for the health and well-being of your baby and the future of your family. If you have a female friend or family member who has had this procedure done, you can also have her in the room with you.

The doctor and nurses will make you as comfortable as possible, and many people are scared of needles and other medical procedures; so they will be able to help you through this as smoothly as possible. Many blessings and best of luck to you and your family.

I gave beginning to triplets on the age of 39. They desired to do amnio on me however I refused - initially, there's a danger of miscarriage, moment of all, it isn't a secure method (sure this can be a large needle) and thirdly, what could I have performed if the experiment did screen some thing? Myself, I shouldn't have performed whatever besides fear for the the rest of my being pregnant as a substitute of having fun with the miracle of production. Another factor, they're incorrect many times. I did not desire to jeopardize my being pregnant or my infants. My infants have been all born healthful @ 36 wks. You simply have got to make certain you are taking further well care of your self. Your child is depending on you! (I could definite like to grasp what selection you're making)

Yes, they allow hubbies.
You can't really relax because you're nervous about what you're gonna see and if they'll find anything wrong. Just remember you'll see your baby(ies) !
I'm not gonna tell you it doesn't hurt because it does, but it's not horrible. They give you a local anesthetic to numb your belly at the injection site first. Just focus on your loveydove and then the screen image of your baby ! :+}
