French Bulldogs are prone to having skin problems, especially allergies. I would try giving him a bath with a high quality oatmeal shampoo (for dogs) and cool water, just be sure to let the shampoo sit for 10-15 minutes. Also, if he is not on it already, put him on a high quality food like Natural Balance and maybe a Omega Fatty Acid supplement. He can also have Benedyrl at the dosage of 1 mg per pound that they dog weighs, but it may or may not work.

You probably need to take him to the vet to and have him checked for any other skin problems. Many of the antihistamines that you can get from the vet work very well and are pretty inexpensive.

If you've not done so, first check for fleas.

Bulldogs are prone to allergies, just like humans. A friend of mine Bred English Bulldogs so I've been around them for a long time.

I would suggest talking to your vet about the skin condition and about possible allergy testing. You can test for allergies via a simple diet change. I've seen quite a few dogs itch just from allergies alone.

A friend of mine has french bull dog and he has skin allergies. Thats what it could be or check for fleas to. But you can go to pets mart and get this skin treatment for dogs, im not sure of the name of it i forgot. But ask someone there. And the next time you go to the vet tell them about it. You can also try giving him a bath with medicated shampoo for oily skin you can get it at a store. Good luck

Most problems with "itching dogs dont have anything to do with the skin... its probably an allergy to the food you've been buying... spend a couple of xtra bucks and buy a better "food" dont feed your dog "table scraps or give them treats... quite a few dogs are allergic to "corn meal" unfortunately this is the main ingredient in most of the cheaper dog foods. Next time you buy a dog food read the lable and ask yourself if it sounds good to you?

Pay a visit to your local PetSmart and ask their store personnel. They have lots of knowledge, and lots of products for various issues. Most of them also have staff vets and groomers who know a lot, and they are very nice about helping.

you may need to take him to a Dermatologist (yes they have those for dogs!). Start at your vet's office and see what they tell you.
