When I got mine they said not to use peroxide or alcohol. They gave me some sort of iodine cleanser and everything turned out fine. A search using the words 'piercing aftercare peroxide' turns up lots of site saying not to use it long term.

I would be very careful about using hydrogen peroxide on any cuts or piercings. There has been a lot of recent medical research that has proven that although the peroxide will help to keep the area clean, it will also erode some of the new skin growth. This will actually delay the healing process.
Peroxide is used when nothing else is available, but may not be the best choice for healing quickly, with little damage. Alcohol is a much safer choice. Good luck.

When I had my belly button pierced I was told not to use rubbing alchohol or peroxide. It destroys the new skin that is trying to form. The best thing to use is Sea Salt and water. You can buy the Sea Salt in the spice aisle at your local grocery dept. You just mix the salt in water and then take a cotton ball and sponge on your piercing. You can also use saline solution that you clean contact lenses w/. But as far as I was told do not use alcohol or peroxide. Good Luck!

You can keep using it but only once a day and let it dry out in between.....maybe you could try to keep some kind of covering(like a bandaid) over it til it heals as it's been proven that a bandaid speeds healing and keeps bacteria from entering. If it looks red and irritated you may have an infection and need to see your doctor. Navel piercings are notorious for getting infected cause they're in a spot that gets rubbed constantly.

yeah, you can use hydrogen peroxide for just about anything. People gargle with it. I always used HP to clean my piercings. I hear that the belly button can get infected pretty easily, so I would recommend sticking to the peroxide to keep it clean, and you probably should use something else (i.e. antibiotic ointment) to prevent sickness and aid in healing

To be thoroughly straightforward, after I were given mine achieved, i used luke warmth salt water and it healed completely, yet when it grow to be noticeably stated then bypass for it. Hydrogen peroxcide is tremendous notwithstanding it can provide you with an allergic reaction noticeably as its only been pierced, i does no longer in my opinion use it ever. & thats coming from someone with a variety of of piercings. :) wish ive helped! If it's not drying it out, then it's fine. I used Bactine for mine though. I find that it's gentler than hydrogen peroxcide.
When did you get it pierced? It takes at least 6 weeks to fully heal, if not longer.

I reckon you are increasing your chance of irritation, keloid scarring and or rejection of the piercing using peroxide, as it's a bleach.
If the piercing's not healing, it's probably infected. Please see the peicrer or a doctor straight away.
