I am doing a science fair project to see what wood has the best heat resistance (or you could think about it as "Which wood has the hardest time burning"). The woods that I am going to test are poplar, oak, pine and hemlock. I tried looking up fire properties for these woods, and I could not find anything. Please help!

I found some qualitative descriptions of woods and their burning properties, provided by a British scouting organization. It does not include hemlock. I suspect that your best bet would be to contact either a lumber yard or a forest ranger to get more comprehensive information about the burning properties of woods.
