Ok. Well i am in middle school, and i lost about 15 lbs over the summer by running a mile or two a day, and i stopped drinking sodas. Water is all i drink still and it has been about 8 mounths.
Also now i am in a foods class and the teacher said that if you are trying to lose weight, then you should go to a 2000 calorie diet, and get the right amount of grains, meat&beans, fruits, vegetables, oils (very little), and milk.
You can go to this website called www.mypyramid.gov and to the right fill out the "My pyramid plan" and it should tell you all you need. Then, go to this link and fill it out, no charge(we did it at school)http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov/checkitout.aspx
Then click on proceed to food intake. Then in the search bar to the left, type in all the food you have had in the last day after you have it all down, click on select quantity and after you are done with that, you click on " Save and Analyze". Then just go down the list looking at all of the links it gives you, and it will tell you what you do right, and what you need to change. If you are eating wrong, you will lose weight when you change it.

Meth is bad for you...don't do that. As far as the exercise thing goes, I usually work out at least 30 minutes everyday. I would start here. Maybe do your runs every other day. If it takes you ten minutes to run that mile, walk for another 20. If you really want to lose the weight than this should be important to you. Keep up the 100 sit-ups/ push-ups.
As far as your diet goes, You need to figure out what you like, how many calories your body needs, etc. As you excercise more your metabolism will change and start to burn more calories.
I pretty much eat what I want (with the exception of no fast food, not a lot of chips, sodas, etc). I use real butter on my bread, eat cheese (no low fat crap), drink 2% milk, use real cream for my coffee, etc. I also eat Whole grain cereal, smoothies for breakfast and Ezekiel bread. I also try to eat a lot of Organic Foods. Try to eat a new healthy food once every few days.
For example, I will go for a 2.5 mile run in a little while. After I get back, we are having Pan-Seared Dry-Aged Ribeye steaks with Whole-Grain Mustard Roasted Potatoes for dinner. Sounds good does'nt it?
Well...best of luck to you...

I believe that exercise is the key to loosing weight. I walk everyday for a half an hour. I have been doing this for 4 years. I lost 100 pounds just by walking. I think most people know what to eat and what not to eat. They key is just to cut back just a little. DRINK WATER! That is very important also. I think the only way to keep it off is to continue doing it. I know if I would stop walking I would start to gain weight. I made a life change years ago rather than go on a diet. I realized that food is here to fuel my body not for pleasure. I also realized that there will always be more pizza's in my life...I don't have to eat 4 or 5 slices. I hope this helps you and I wish you luck.

I started this on Jan 3, 2007. Most lunch and dinner meals are interchangeable. I try to keep my calories under 1400 a day, but I havent started working out yet, which would definatley speed up the process. I've lost 6-7 lbs so far. Here are a few examples on what I eat daily:
breakfast (choose 1) -
*1 egg (no oil) in a pita pocket and a fist sized portion of fruit
*1/2 cup oatmeal with one banana mixed in
*1 bowl special k by kelloggs
*1 slice cinnamon toast with low cal cream cheese
snacks (choose one between breakfast and lunch, and another
between lunch and dinner or one for after dinner)
*1 orange
*1 smart ones desserts (in the frozen section)
*1 weight watchers ice cream bar
*4 T. light cool whip, 1/2 slightly frozen banana and 3 crumbled vanilla wafers
lunch (choose 1)
*for a light lunch- can of sardines with 10 crackers
*lean cusine or healthy microwaveable meal
*large salad and small side of meat
dinner (choose 1)
*large salad with meat
*another microwaveable meal
*grilled (gorge forman grill) lean beef or chicken- no oil
I try not to eat after 8PM, but I have a few times since starting this. I drink LOTS of water, even when I'm not thirsty. This isnt really a "diet" or a rael plan, I'm just keeping track of what I eat as I go each day. It may not work for you, but I'm seeing results so far and my goal is a 20lb weight loss by mid February. Good luck to you!

Everyone has an opionion about losing weight. I recently lost 65lb in 13 weeks on the Atkins diet. Looked great, felt great, and developed a tumor.
I still need to lose weight...this time I'm paying a whole lot more attention to how healthy I am. I went to www.herbdoc.com and I'm doing a vegetarian diet through him. I like Big Macs as well as the next person (hence my thick waist, and the need for the diet in the first place!), but I want to be alive at the end of the diet, and I'm trying harder to be in good shape instead of worrying so much about how I look in a bathing suit.
Good luck!!Ü

Well I lost 35 pounds last year by:
1.) Drinking a glass ofwarm water w/ lemon (as soon as I woke up)
2.) Around 10 or 11am: eating fruit. (Like cut up cantelope w/ an apple) I only ate fruit until 12pm.
3.) Around 12pm -1 pm: eat a granola bar w/ more fruit or veggies ( I love celery w/ peanut butter or a handful of almonds w/ fruit)
4.) Around 3-4pm I would eat like a 100 calorie snack w/ green tea. ( Popcorn, those 100 calorie snacks)
5.) I would eat my dinner around 5:30pm. I would eat a full course meal. ( Grilled chicked w/ steamed veggies or fish w/ a baked potato) something that would fill me up!Then I would eat those 80 calorie fudge bars from Healthy Choice.
***It's important to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water a day and to work out like 3-4 times a week ( go walking or play tennis or something active, you like to do.Also I try not to eat past 6pm.** Good Luck!

1: Plan your meals on a weekly or monthly grid.
a - Get a copy of the Glycemic Index so that you know what foods have the best index rating and what foods help to manage your blood sugars.
b - You need to have a good balance in your food plan - check out mypyramid.com to create a plan for you.
c - Limit the amount of salt (sodium) you use
d - Make you meals at home, instead of buying processed foods.
e - Drink 40-48 oz of water per day (if possible) You can add flavoring to the drinks, as long as they are non-caloric.
f - don't use artificial sweeteners
g - stay organic, if possible
h - stay away from ingredients such as High-fructose Corn syrup, and MSG, etc.
i - stay away from sodas (unless it's organic, without high-fructose corn syrup.
j - stay away from donuts, pastries, etc
k - stay away from empety calorie foods and drinks (foods/drinks that are high calorie but has limited nutritional benefit)
If you stay away from processed foods, it's most likely you won't have to worry about #h.
example breakfast -
2 eggs scrambled or make into omelet or fritatta
1/2 to 1 oz cheese (use what you like)
Add - shallots or onion, bell peppers, mushrooms - fresh (not the kind in a can), zuchini, (any other vegtable you like)
1 slice Whole wheat, natural bread (toasted or not. your preference) I like Franzs 100% Natural Breads
1/2 tsp butter or olive oil for bread
Fresh fruit - 1/2 to 1 cup of your choice
Green tea (iced or hot) to drink
---
mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack
Fresh fruit or vegtables
---
Exercise --- 3 - 15 minute sessions will keep your metabolism up. 15 mins at beginning of your day, 15 mins at mid-point in your day, 15 mins at 1 hour before sleeptime.
Session 1 - strength training (free weights, etc)
Session 2 - aerobic (stairs, fast walking, etc.)
Session 3 - stretching (Yoga, Tichi, Pilatoes)
Do these routines, every other day or at least 4 times per week.
You don't mention how fast you want to loose the weight, however if you loose it too fast, it might return if you regress to your previous life style.
Getting "in shape" is a life-style change, something to keep up with and not to be thought of as a quick fix, that will be forgot once the weight is off.

A mile a day won't do it. You would need to run 5 miles, walk 2 miles, and in the summer swim 1/2 an hour.
It's not what you eat, it's how much. A calorie is a calorie. You could eat too much salad and gain weight. You could eat less Twix Bars than you exercise and you will lose weight. It's the amount of exercise, and the amount of food.

You can eat almost anything really, just watch your calories and fat intake. I usually have a cup or bowl of soup for brunch, then a salad for lunch and a regular meal later on. If I'm hungry after that I snack on veggies and ranch or some fruit. 8-)
it seems to work for me.
I did go on a diet of only soup once and lost about 5lbs pretty quick in a week and a half...(progresso soups)
