lol i took this last year and still find it hard to describe.
basically you look at the structures of argument and language and what is the best way to set up an argument.
it's a lot of learning cos it's quite a new concept buit a lot of fun
you have a 45 min multiple choice exam asking you to find the conclusion of an argument etc then a piece of writing

It is usually a subject people do as well as the other As levels they have selected. This does mean it is an extra exam and you may have to give time up to fit in extra revision for it but it also means you have an extra As level that the majority of people won't have and shows your ability to think on a number of levels and analyse a variety of topics.
Is your decision some people find it interesting whether as others find it a waste of time! It really depends on who you have teaching it, who your learning with and what you are interested in.
Good luck with what ever you choose to do.

rubbish is the answer to that, just like General Studies, basically you just learn to analyse and evaluate things from different angles. To be honest that's basically part of every A level anyway, so in my opinion Critical thinking is a pointless AS level, you just repeat the skills you learn in every other subject.

We should all be critical thinkers, able to evalute and analyse information and present a reasoned argument in a professional manner. Can you do this, do you want to do it, does it interest you, how much do you need the qualification for Uni etc, can you afford to choose it if it hits your button? I guess you need to weigh up what you want alongside what you need and make a choice. If you like topical debates and discussion it could be for you.

if it is a college course i would say that it would be an Assocaite of Science degree in crtitical thinking.
for the most part. critical thinking is a way of asking yourself the right questions and how to solve those questions that best describe the need...? kind of vague question but gave it my best shot.. hope this helps
