My son will be going to school Easter 2008 and I feel one term in Foundation / Reception class is too little for him. I think he will be disadvantaged and would rather he start after Christmas. I've been advised by the school to write to my council as it is to do with funding and the school would prefer two intakes. They also said, the more people who write in, the more likely anything will be done, so I want to write a letter that I can distribute to anyone interested in changing the system, but I want to get some good facts to go in there!

A lot of schools are only having one intake per year now, my neice will be just 4 when she goes in Sept.
As for interesting facts, if you are going to distribute this to other parents, write from the heart, but dont make it too mushy.
Good luck
