It depends on what end of LA you are talking about.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Valencia(North of LA)
Raging Waters in San Dimas (East of LA)
Knott's Soak City in Buena Park and Wild Rivers in Irvine (These are in Orange County not Los Angles but still a reasonable distance away)
The best one is probably the farthest which is Wild Rivers in Irvine, but from most parts in LA you are still only an hour or less away. But none of these parks even come close to better ones in other parts of the country.

Raging Waters is located in San Dimas, CA, approx 30 miles east of downtown LA, near the junction of I-10 and SR 57

theres Raging Waters in Pomona and Hurricane Harbor but that one is at an amusement park.
