First of all to the people who throw their food against the wall.... thats just gross. and only spaghetti will stick, not something like rigatoni or penne. run some pasta under cool water and take a bite, if you like the texture , then it's done. Some people like it less done than others. It's all a matter of preference.

BTW..I'm Italian, and if my mother or grandmother ever saw me throw pasta against the wall to see if it was cooked, they would have me committed.

Taste it, if it's to your liking it's done. I prefer mine al dente. If you want to throw your pasta against the wall, invite some friends over and have a food fight!

Test with fork for tenderness. Also pop a piece in the mouth and then you know if it is tender and salted enough. Then there is the throw a piece at the wall or ceiling and see if it sticks. I opt for tasting so I know I have seasoned properly with salt.

I boil the pasta, then i open a cupboard door, and sling the pasta on the wooden cupboard door. If the pasta sticks it's not done. If it falls off, it's done.

I take a piece out and taste it. But I have heard that if you throw it against the wall and it sticks that means it is done
