Conservative Christians-their arrogance and conceit provokes a hostile response from others. I have nothing against normal Christians but the evangelical, creationist types I have total contempt for.

I'd say the fundamentalist religious types, because they want converts and atheists don't care if you convert or not as long as you stay out of their way. Both groups are equally off-putting, but since one is off-putting while trying to gather believers, they're more harmful to their own cause.
The non-fundamentalist religious types are least harmful to their cause.

An unfortunate side effect of religion is human nature. Some of the greatest atrocities in human history have been done under the banner of religion, and no religion is exempt. Religion at its core is about inclusion and exclusion believer and unbeliever, which creates the us vs them mentality that eventually leads to conflict. Whenever someone is completly convinced that they are the ones with the right answer than everyone who doesnt believe the same way is wrong. This black and white mentality promotes intolerance and leads to conflict. Its this conflict that ends up creating the harmful images and hurting the sometimes good message and philosophy that the great religions promote.

You're very poorly informed. Atheists have no cause. They simply do not believe in fairy tales or superstition. I know of no ( zero ) atheists who are trying to spread their disbelief. At times they will defend it when someone tries to cram religion down their throat, though.

The ultra-conservatives who want nothing more than to judge the world according to their own mind -- not God's.
Recall that when Jesus and the apostles wanted to cross through Samaria, they were prohibited by the people. Someone asked Jesus whether he wanted them to call down fire upon the Samaritans. But Jesus turned and rebuked them....those who claimed to be his followers and should have known better.

Hard to say. There are fundimentalist Christians, who are pretty bad when it comes to protesting something they don't believe in. But there are also Anarchist Atheists.....
So.....yeah, I'm not sure...Its hard to say.

Atheists who say that it is wrong to believe in something that has no evidence, because that sword cuts both ways and makes them as foolish and blind as the theists they dispute.

ALL. Christians had the inquisition, witch trials, and etc. Atheists had Soviet Russia, Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tung, and etc. All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.
