Why is it that the bride has to wear white to show that she is a virgin and the men don't have to prove anything.
I say go for it and do what ever colors you want.
My friend is doing her wedding colors in red, white, and black.
Why don't you wear whatever color you want.
I think it would be beautiful to see a bride in a colored dress. Just make sure that you stand out from everyone else. what about you wear a bright red dress and everyone else wear black that would look nice.
GOOD LUCK.

You can wear whatever color you want. I like both traditional and the non-traditional. When planning my wedding, I had a hard time deciding what to do. Get the white dress or go for something different. When shopping around, I saw some beautiful dresses. Go for something you absolutely love. It's your wedding, so get something that looks good on you, is comfortable and makes you feel like the bride.

Ok well I'm a bit more traditional...its not that I have a problem with other people doin it, its just not really my personal thing, I couldn't feel as "bridal" I guess without being in white...maybe thats stupid but its the way I feel. I think you personally need to go try on some of these colored wedding dresses and see for yourself if you get that "bridal" feeling...if you can get that feeling in black or red or something, then I say go for it, but if you just dont feel the same, then don't sacrifice to be a little different, its a really great feeling and I wouldn't give it up for the world!

I believe you should have everything you want! Anything you do should be excepted from everyone you love enough to invite to your wedding. I personally would wear a white or ivory dress just to make it look more like im the bride, because I wouldnt want anyone else to wear white to my wedding. If you do want somthing more non-traditional go for whatever color your fiance thinks looks best on you.

I love the idea of having a non traditional white dress. Mine isn't too "non-traditional" mine is a strapless ivory dress with an apple red around the bottom and it laces up the back in the apple red color.
My friend wore a lavendar color wedding dress for her wedding. It was so pretty!
I think you should do what you feel comfortable with.

I think it's a cool idea, they have SO many different types of bride's dresses now, and for that reason, you are allowed to step outside of the box and be a little different, and really, what if you don't look good in all white? You can throw in a little splash of colour to help you out!! I say go for it if it's what you want! It's your dress and your day, do what you like!! :) I know I am for my wedding :)

I guess it depends on the dress. You want to make sure that is stands out as the brides dress, but if you want to incorporate some color in there that would be really beautiful. When I was shopping for my dress I saw one that the back panel opened up larger at the bottom in almost a cone shape and you could choose that to be one of like 26 colors or something. It was beautiful. Also its all up to the lady who is wearing the dress and her preferance. Just make sure that you stand out from the bridesmaids Congrats!

I think choosing a color shows personality in different ways. For example, ivory is very elegant and sophisticated. Pale pink is very feminine and soft. Red shows that you have a sense of adventure, etc. White is nice of course, in a pure, innocent, virginal kind of way. Most brides today are older, and less interested in looking like a doe-eyed young lady - and want to look like a sexy, sophisticated adult.
PS - colored wedding gowns, even just ivory, photograph much better. White wedding gowns tend to lose detail in photos and look like white blobs.

My wedding colors are black and pink and I was seriously thinking of wearing a pink dress.....but the dress I got is off-white. I couldn't find a pink dress I was in love with. My best friend got married 2 days before Christmas and her dress was red....it was BEAUTIFUL. I say go for it!!!!!!!
Congratulations and best wishes!
