The worst thing I ever saw was on the London Underground-a man reached into his pants, had a good scratch of his backside-then sniffed his fingers!! It took everything I had not to be sick all over the place-though I admit I blurted out,'Oh my God!!!'

I was on a bus tonight - & this guy would NOT stop spitting on the floor!!! Then some girls got on with a mobile that was blasting out music - & they were shouting, even though they were only sitting a few feet apart. The worst habits are seen & heard on the top deck of a bus (at the back), but as the bus was full, I didn't have much choice of a seat.

Actually, I have a horror story from the first (and only) trip I took on a greyhound bus. The bus was less than half-full when it stopped to pick up one guy from a stop. I was in the seat by myself, and he asked to sit next to me. I wanted the extra space (I'd been crammed in with strangers for hours up until then), and so I made up some excuse about needing the room for my duffel bag. And well, ok, I also got the feeling he was going to hit on me and I just didn't feel like dealing with it. Anyway, he decides to sit on the opposite seat beside me. I'm reading my book, and I notice out of the corner of my eye that he's staring at me and smiling. I look over, and he was actually getting himself off with one hand, and had a styrofoam cup in the other. While I almost burst out laughing because I just didn't think things like this actually happened, I managed to somehow pretend I was absorbed in my book. I didn't want to give him a reason to continue. Then I noticed the girl in front of me was grinning at him and watching him. I have no idea if she was doing anything or not, but he was still grinning at me instead of looking at her. In the end he got off the bus just a few stops later, while I was still doing my best to ignore what was going on. It was weird. I didn't feel threatened (I mean, there were other people on the bus), but what are you supposed to do in that situation? And actually, later on, a little kid I'd befriended actually reached down to pick up the styrofoam cup. I had to warn his dad not to let him pick it up. I have a feeling he somehow knew what I was suggesting, because it only took one look from me before he grabbed his sons hand back. Yeah, I don't care how many great reviews I hear about taking the greyhound, I will find another way in the future.

Oh man. NYC MTA trains are the worst. I've seen a million grotesque things:
1. a bum vomitting
2. a bum pissing on a pole (which is why you should never lean on those things)
3. people dancing and literally rolling on the ground
4. people breathing down my neck
5. people sitting in a seat that is way to small for their gigantic @sses
6. people talking so loud on the phone (one time, this girl called her mom and told her to open the door for her because she had to p!ss real bad, NO JOKE!)

i was once sitting on the train and had only one seat next to me free and the seat next to that one was occupied. This really, really overweight guy looked at the seat and decided that he could fit (i dont want to be rude but i mean how hard is logic really?) he needed at least twice that much space so he sat on my leg in the process of sitting down. i hate that. my personal space was violated so badly by it that i felt dirty the whole day.

Example of bad manners: talking loudly on a mobile phone while in close proximity to a total stranger.
Trouble is so many people do this probably consider themselves to have good manners.

First, I can understand why you didn't say anything, often when shocked by such horrid behavours we are left utterly speachless.
I wonder what she would have said if you had been equally rude and asked it that was going to be her only nutrition until tea!
Wot I think is sad, is she prolly has done it so long that she is hardly conscious of her doing so. Worse, she may one day mate and be the model for all her children.
Honestly, I can not think of any rudeness I have seen that can top your's.

I once saw a father helping his son take a pee up against the door on the underground train. They got off at Golders Green.

Hmm, well while i was on a bus, outside, and old man scratched his crotch but i guess that doesn't count, once, i think, in the corner of my eye, this guy was m-bating but he might have just been scratching too.
This isn't really disgusting but I also sat next to a man that talked to himself and had a knife taped to his ankle, man that was scary.

a woman who changed her baby's nappy on a bus seat, baby proceeded to wee all over the seat and she then got off the bus without a) even attempting to clear it up, b) leaving any sort of warning for fellow travellers and c) informing the driver that this had happened....surely one case for bringing in parenting an social responsibility classes? *ewwwwwww* still makes me shudder thinking about it!
