You left out pertinent info. Are you "depressed"? On meds? To answer your questions, yes I think about it many times a day myself - most days too. It does go away after 5 minutes or so, but I know, always know, it is in the back of my mind. Already tried twice, and it's a fact that once someone tries, they will keep trying. Only problem now, is that I will leave a 5 yr old little boy without a Mother.

I have been diagnosed with severe depression and thoughts like those you mention have been a part of my life for several years.
Depending how often this happens (every day, several times a week or just very occasionaly) would be a factor to consider, but anyone who has such thoughts should consult a medical professional as it could be symptomatic to something serious.

It seems like everyone is saying to see a doctor... And I agree, see a psychologist. I don't, however, believe that meds will solve everything. A psychologist would be able to work though these feelings with you. I'm currently going through a very similar situation, and that's what I'm doing. Meds can mess you up even more. I read a study a month or two ago where it showed that some anti-depressants make you more likely to committ suicide. So I'm working on it without meds... Please see a psychologist. You are not alone!

Are you suffering from depression in general? The symptoms are pretty well published (webmd.com) so I won't go into them. If you are, that's pretty much the thing to concentrate on treating. If you are not, you might be having feelings of spontaneous mischief. Like standing on the subway platform and thinking how easy it would be to push someone in front of the train. I forget what the medical name for this is, might be a form of schizophrenia or borderline personality, but check into it with a shrink. There is no shame in going to a shrink. I would suggest a psychologist because a psychiatrist is basically a drug salesman.

A little over a year ago, this happened to me. The thoughts increased in frequency, so I checked into a hospital. Five days later, I checked out w new meds and my normal self back. I strongly advise you talk to a trusted friend, parent, counselor, etc!!!
