Take W. D. 40 and spray the inside of the distributor cap. This will displace any water and clean the inside the same time. Spray down the spark plug wires to displace the water.

You may need to Install another distributor cap because the water cracked it. Do yourself a favor and purchase a cap with copper instead of aluminum inside. Replace your spark plug wires and spark plugs.

Good luck

The biggest reason that we used to find why a car would crank but not start when wet was spark plug wires, coil towers, and dist. cap towers corroding. When wet the corroded wires let the spark jump around the tower connection and to the water nearby which has the least resistance to ground. There could also be carbon tracking on the porcelain at the plug end which essentially causes the same condition. If this is not it, I would be having a good look at the sensor wiring in and around the motor for damaged insulation that leaks voltage to ground when wet. Good luck.

Take it to a shop that specializes in electrical repairs. You could literally spend thousands of dollars replacing parts and not get the right one.
