JWs do not believe Jesus is God, but they use their own version of the Bible, the New World Translation, that has been changed to fit their beliefs. It is absolutely clear from what Jesus did and what He said about Himself that He claimed to be God and that by His actions showed that He is God. Check out the first set of links below for a lot more detail than I can provide just on this page.

I give up. Do Jehovah's Witnesses believe Jesus is not God in the flesh?

question: Is there any reason behind Jehovah's Witnesses to believe that Jesus is God contained in the flesh? no. the concept that Jesus changed into an incarnation of Jehovah God, as that note incarnation is often used, isn't contained in the scriptures. somewhat, Jesus left in the back of his heavenly glory (John 17:5) and had the honor (John a million:14) of a terrestrial body (a million Corinthians 15:40).

A better question is did John, who wrote the book believe Jesus is God.

PLease notice what John said:

John 20: 31but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name.

Rev 1:6 and He has made us to be a kingdom, priests to His God and Father--to Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

John believed in the God and Father of Jesus.

and not Jesus the God.

John as a witnesses of Christ and a witness for Jehovah didn't believe Jesus is God, why should we?

They believe Jesus is the Son of God but not God in the flesh of man. They also believe Jesus is Michael the Archangel.

Jehovah's Witnesses definitely do not believe that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. This is the major difference that they have with all other groups that claim to be Christian.

If Jesus had been both God and man when on the earth, why did he repeatedly pray to Jehovah? Paul wrote: “In the days of his flesh Christ offered up supplications and also petitions to the One who was able to save him out of death, with strong outcries and tears, and he was favorably heard for his godly fear.”—Hebrews 5:7.

That Jesus was not partly a spirit when on the earth is proved by Peter’s statement that Christ was “put to death in the flesh, but . . . made alive in the spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18) Only because Jesus was wholly human could he have experienced what imperfect people experience and thus become a sympathetic high priest. Wrote Paul: “We have as high priest, not one who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tested in all respects like ourselves, but without sin.”—Hebrews 4:15.

As “the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world,” Jesus “gave himself a corresponding ransom for all.” (John 1:29; 1 Timothy 2:6) In that way, Jesus bought back exactly what Adam had lost—perfect, eternal human life. Since God’s justice required ‘soul for soul,’ Jesus thus had to be what Adam was originally—a perfect human, not a God-man.—Deuteronomy 19:21; 1 Corinthians 15:22.

We believe that Jesus is God's Son. Jesus was never called the God Son, but always the Son of God.
What Scriptures show us that Jesus and God are two entirely separate spirit persons?
John 14:28__ Here Jesus says “My Father is greater than I.”

Mark 13:32 __Jesus says here--“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. (If Jesus were God, he would know all things)
These two verses speak for themselves. Obviously, he acknowledged God to be greater than himself and that he was not omniscient.
John 5:30__ Jesus says “I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
Phil 2:9 “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him (Jesus) and given Him the name which is above every name” (If Jesus were God, he would not need to be exalted.)
John 17:3__ Jesus said in prayer to his God and Father-- “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.”
Do we fully appreciate Jesus' words? Do we know the nature of both the Father and His Son and their respective roles in our salvation? They can each rightfully be called our "Savior." Father/Son--you can't have one without the other.

With all due respect to those who crafted the Trinity doctrine, they were fallible men. Their speculations cannot be compared to the Scriptures and the Scriptures prove that it is not a Biblical teaching but was voted on by a council of imperfect men in Nicea in 325 AD.

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Note Jesus' own words at John 17:3 -- "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."
Notice he made a distinction between himself AND the only true God?

In fact, the apostle John said he wrote his account, not to prove that Jesus is God, "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name." - John 20:31, KJV

It says "Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God" NOT "Jesus is the Christ, God the Son."

Jehovah's Witnesses are nontrinitarian Christians who teach that Jesus Christ was and is divine and of the same nature as God.

Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe!

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. But Jehovah's Witnesses recognize the bible truth that Jesus the Son is distinct from and not equal to God the Father (see Scriptures below).

Almighty Jehovah God (the Father) created Jesus as His firstborn son.

(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation

(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.

(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God

(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God

(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth

(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak

(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am

(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him

(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father

(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God

(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.

(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah

(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him

Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!
