Be assured that adverse reactions are extremely rare - and even more rare now than even 10 years ago as anaesthetics have improved so much. You'll be fine - enjoy it & before you know it, it will all be done & you'll be on your way home. I've had a number of GA's in my life & even with my health problems, there's been nothing to worry about.

While it is always possible that you will suddenly have a reaction when you haven't had one before, it is unlikely.
Some allergens take time to cause you a problem. People that are allergic to bees get stronger reactions each time they are stung. The same will hold true with the anesthesia or anything else you could be allergic to.
But it is unlikely.

I had never had any either until a few years ago. When I came out of it I was crying hard and not really sensible. I didn't know what was going on and I was kind of scared. There are lots of different reactions and you will have time to talk them over with your anesthesiologist before your operation.

No one can tell you if you will definitely have a reaction to the anesthetic. It is critical that you tell your doctor and anesthesiologist about all known allergies you have and any that run in your family, that includes foods, all medicines(prescribed, herbal and over the counter), and environmental allergies. Also report all health issues, especially asthma and gastroesophageal reflux issues(chronic heartburn). Chances are you won't have a reaction. Please discuss your fears and concerns with your doctor and the anesthesiologist, they will be able to give you more information. Good luck!

during recovery from anaesthesia, the patient passes through the various planes and stages but in the reverse order.the speed of recovery depends upon the anaesthetic agent which was used.

Hard to say. People develop allergies at different times of their lives.
If the surgeon or anaesthetist feels that you may react to it, then they wouldn't have recommended it.
Good luck with your surgery, I'm sure you'll be absolutely fine. x

It's unlikely that you'll have a reaction if you've never had one before. Most people who react do it every time ... my dad reacts every time without fail ...

most people don`t have reactions" but you can change and then have a reaction, that`s why they have you sign papers so you can`t sue them"" because anything can happen anytime, but mostly most of the time, your fine"!
