I'm renting a 1920's house with two-tone sage green walls in the loving room. The trim around the floor and the doorways are darker. I also have no door to my bedroom (not standard size anyway). The carpet is biege berber matching the loveseat. Now, my questions are these...

1) What color / style should I do for the window treatments? I'd like to add more colors and not look like I'm color blind.

2) Sould I put the curtain rod to my bedroom in the living room going in or in the bedroom going out?

How about a dark maroon color.......I would put the rod going into the bed room.

It may sound wierd but Black usually makes all greens "pop". Try a sample and see if you like it. Actually you can use any color that you really like or a mixture of colors. A paisley or oriental fabric would look great since you are planning on defining the area between the living room and bedroom with a curtain rod. If the curtain rod is facing the living room, you can match with the curtains in that space. Or you could use venitian or other accent blinds in the living room if you would rather, and have the curtain rod in the bedroom, and have it accenting the accessories in the bed room. Wherever you have the curtain rod placed, realize that you can line the curtains on the back to accessorize with the adjoining room. For example, curtain rod in the bedroom, lined with a black, beige, or oriental fabric to set off the living room. Please consider one of the fancy rods with accents to highlight whatever you want to highlight in the room. But whatever you do make sure that it is something that you would like and enjoy, that's what defines you and makes it enjoyable for you. God Bless, Martha S.

I would do a deep, purplish maroon for the curtains. And the curtain rod depends on what it looks like. But any reddish color would be a beautiful accent since red is the complimentary color of green.

I have a pretty pair that are off white and gold...very pretty. Very dressy. I would suggest hanging a decorative rod on the outside of the bedroom entrance - on the living room side.

Yellow goes great with greens. Depends on what look you are going for...but don't be afraid. Check out www.hgtv.com
Lots of great ideas.

Good Luck

I would use chocalate brown, ivory and cream a little olive green and a "punch" colour of burnt orange. I would hang the rod in my bedroon as to make to lines flow from the LR to my room. It will also help to make the LR look bigger.
