Toothaches are up there amongst the most painful. I would suggest you use some anti inflammatory like brufen and go to your dentist.
good luck

Eek! Toothaches ARE the worst pain in the whole universe! I once had a toothache get so bad that I thought I would go MAD!
What worked for me was taking ibuprofen. Tylenol or advil didn't help one bit!! I probably took too many but I didn't care, the pain was unbearable. I would get to a dentist ASAP cause the pain will just keep coming back....and WORSE each time!
I had to get a root canal on the tooth that was giving me the pain from hell!
Good luck sweetie!

Hi Emsy...WOW u look gorgeous....man!!!!
YES toothache is one of the most acute pains as it sends direct nerve signals to the brain causing intense discomfort.
Brandy, whiskey etc even if they do work its only for a very brief time..
An anti-inflammatory is only recommended where there is inflammation or swelling..in the case of an abscess (an infection on the nerve of the root of the tooth)
I would suggest NUEROFEN tablets are optimal for toothache (No more than 2 three times in 24 hours) as they contain codeine which can become addictive,short-term use is ok.
Ponstan,a stronger painkiler containing mefenamic acid,is usually prescibed for severe toothache and a stronger version Ponstan Forte is available (prescription only)
These are ok to use, as directed, short-term and should offer relief.
You must visit your dentist for appropriate treatment, most decaying and infected teeth are treatable and need not be extracted so there isno need to fear todays dentists! Just make an appointment
Please give me best answer as I am new!Thank you and hope u feel better

·Oral Jell is made too soothe sore gums and it can numb the area around the tooth.
·Anti-Inflammatory medications do also help a lot with the pain.
·Rubbing clove oil on the tooth seems to help.
·I found out when I had a bad toothache that one major part was when I breathed in or ate the tooth would hurt more. I got a sugar free gum, Trident, chewed it and stuck it on the tooth. It made a band-aid that lasted until I could see a dentist.

Clove Oil is good for toothache. Works every time. You can buy it at your local chemist. Put a little on a cotton bud and dab onto the affected area and you will be pain free. It tastes a little nasty but well worth it to stop your suffering. Good Luck!

Crush up an asprin and put a bit of the powder around the painful tooth. Try not to lick it off for a while!
Keep doing this during the evening until the asprin is all gone.

It's bad I know. I thought that Excedrin worked pretty well, especially with Oragel topically - often.

vicodin. lots of it. my wisdom teeth feel like they are trying to break out of my skull. i would eat like 10 200mg ibuprofen, and all it does it tear up your stomach. your dentist should be able to call in a rx for vicodin, and antibiotics for the inflammation (which is why your tooth is hurting). somebody also told me to chew up an aspirin and put it directly on the tooth, but i didnt want to try that, it probably tastes gross.
