I am a 50 year old male who woke up three days ago with a sore testicle on the right side. As the day progressed it started swelling and now it is about 2 to 2 1/2 times larger than the other. I have no pain when I urinate I am currently wearing a jock strap. If anything touches, rubs or any way makes contact with it , it is enough pain to make a tear come to your eye. Seman has a brown color mixed in with it. I have started taking 500 mg of penicillen three times a day.
No insurance trying to stay away from doctor if possible.
Thanks

you might be allergic to penicillin, next best person to ask would be a pharmacist!

Testicular torsion must be considered in any patient who complains of acute scrotal pain and swelling. Torsion of the testis is a surgical emergency because the likelihood of testicular salvage decreases as the duration of torsion increases. Conditions that may mimic testicular torsion, such as torsion of a testicular appendage, epididymitis, trauma, hernia, hydrocele, varicocele and Schönlein-Henoch purpura, generally do not require immediate surgical intervention. The cause of an acute scrotum can usually be established based on a careful history, a thorough physical examination and appropriate diagnostic tests. The onset, character and severity of symptoms must be determined. The physical examination should include inspection and palpation of the abdomen, testis, epididymis, scrotum and inguinal region. Urinalysis should always be performed, but scrotal imaging is necessary only when the diagnosis remains unclear. Once the correct diagnosis is established, treatment is usually straightforward.
You would be advised to go to your doctor at your earliest convenience,
Hope this helps

Insurance or not you better go get it checked out.It sounds like a spermicide, that where a tube ruptures and the sperm will build up around you testicle. It won't heal its self, could led to more complications.I had one,if your worried about it being cancer do this.Hold a flashlight under your scrotum like trying to shine the light through it.I know it will be painful.I f you can see reddish light through your scrotum its not cancer, but if its blacked out go see a Dr.Don't mess with this man.I'd rather owe a Dr. bill than not be here later.Good luck!!

Sorry to say you need to go to a doctor. I know about the ins. thing I also live it. Best to fork over the 50-70 bucks instead of cutting it off yourself. It may be a twisted testi which you would need surgery a.s.a.p. The longer you wait the more it could cost.
Good Luck and go now stop screwing around and give them the bucks.

Given your description I think cancer is unlikely. Most likely it represents some kind of infection, and penicillin probably won't cut it. You need to see a doctor. Possibilities include epididymitis, testicular torsion, an STD etc.

my non educated mind says it sounds like a broken blood vessel!
could the brown colour be a blood stain?
I would look for a physical injury rather than infectin, although I dont have a medical degree
interesting though, my right testical has been sore for a couple of days...
