. Is it safe? My fatherly instinct says "not at all, but probably safer than walking or standing around, or riding with strangers. If you have to do this, then enroll in karate class so you can look after yourself, at the very least, take a self defense course. You'll feel better, and probably your parents will too.

You do not want to go in a taxi alone.... make sure you go in a taxi that has a driver.... this way they can drive you to where you want to go.
Yes it is relatively safe.... it is the geting in & out which poses the the most danger depending on the neighborhood.

It is always safer to travel in pairs. Try to have a friend or two with you.

Most taxi service is licenced and bonded know your cab service and ask the driver his name.let a friend know you are getting a taxi.

it is not reccomened, not saying anything wrong with females, but guys see a young girl alone, and its an oppertune moment to try and get a piece, even if you can handle yourself, there is always someone out there who can handle you.
