1) Charity, peace, faith, prayer, humility, right living (holiness),
2) self-righteousness, , pride, profanity, drunkenness, sexual- immorality, thinking that the topic of Christ is just "religion", ect.....
If something about God comes on, do you typically turn it off?
Thank you.

Strangesu... - The problem is that LASTING faith, charity, righteousness, joy,peace,ect.. ONLY comes from God. From your relationship with God I mean.
Otherwise you only have some of these attributes, based on your own life. A relationship with God causes you to experience these things much more fully, and they last.

d_chino-m - No, its reality. We have done wrong things in our lives. We need God's grace and holiness. Thats all.

Flowerchi - A relationship with Christ is what makes the first set apply to you. Because that never ends. If you experience the first set only because of good things in your life and the world and not a relationship with God, that does not LAST.

Courtney - You sound like a very good person. And I'm glad to hear those things. I'm simply saying that a relationship with God will make you a better person. Thanks for responding to my topic here.

Wow I have no clue what you're getting at *sarcasm*. Neither group applies to me. I believe that everyone should strive to make the world better in any way they can whether they believe in god or not. Yeah I drink and have sex and I turn off the TV if the 600 club comes on. I also believe in giving to charity, and giving to the guy on the street corner, and loving my fellow man, and forgiving people who do things that upset me, and not judging others based on anything but their personality. I believe that some people make the world better in big ways others in small ways but it doesn't matter which as long as you are trying. I think that assuming that all atheists embody the traits that you listed is closed minded and judgemental and even if you do believe in god you are not spreading his word of love you are sullying a religion that can be great for people by hating in it's name.

Take the prayer and holy stuff out of the first one, and that could easily describe me.
I fully enjoy all aspects of my life. I give freely and feel good for doing so. I help others freely, and enjoy doing so. I believe in peace, and am a pacifist at heart. I live humbly, and I do all this without the need for a god. If you feel you need a god to be able to do all these things, then thats fine.

the first set. i try to live by the 'golden rule- do unto others'. its not always easy. and yes i don't watch god programs, or go to church. i believe in a power greater than myself but for whatever reason choose not to call it god. prayer is not typically practiced by me and holiness seems to be a little vain, i'd never claim to be unflawed. i just do the best i can, hopefully most of the time its enough.

Charity, peace, faith (but not yours), and humility. But instead of the prayer and your view of holiness, I would add: forgiving, tolerant, Ecologically aware, and open minded.

Nothing except "thinking that the topic of Christ is just 'religion'" applies to me in the second set.

Neither.
These aren't the only two paths. Just because your narrow-minded religion thinks they are doesn't make it so.

What a stupid question.
Are you looking to shame people into believing your religion?

Neither. You seem to think that those two groups are mutually exclusive, which is a definite unreality.
