The word 'satan' is the Hebrew transliteration of the word 'adversary.' Therefore, Satan is the one who opposes God. Satan, is the most powerful of the fallen angels. Satan, also known as Lucifer and the Devil, is said to be the one who entered the Garden of Eden and convinced Eve to disobey God. There is debate among scholars regarding the time of the fall of Satan. Some say that he fell when he moved Eve to disobey God. Others state that Satan fell sometime before that and merely manifested his adversarial nature in the Garden. Still others say that there was a great battle in heaven long before the Garden of Eden and that Satan took one third of the angels with him.

That he was not a fallen angel, but a fallen Cherub, who reflected the light of God and was set above him for that purpose. He got the idea he could be God, because he was created with such beauty and for that he was cast down. His name is Satan now and he is the King of the devils, who are angels who have fallen. Their mission is to bring as many humans to hell with them on judgement day and keep as many of them from believing in God or His Son Jesus. He seems to be doing quite well. He is a liar and the Beginning of all that is Evil.

He was one of God's chosen in our premortal life. He was one of the first spirits created by God. He rebeled because he wanted to save everyone, make everyone go to heaven and with his plan, there would be no agency, no choice. We would have to obey. He also wanted all the glory to go to him, instead of God. He was thrown out of heaven along with 1/3 of the hosts of heaven (some of God's other spirit children). They became his minions, doing his bidding. He is after all of us to be as miserable has he is. Because of the choices he made, he will never get a body, never be allowed to live and choose for himself.
He came to Adam and Eve in the garden, not to try and make them disobey God, but to prove that God was a lier. If he could get them to eat the fruit of the tree of Good and Evil, then maybe he could get God to have them eat from the tree of life, in such doing, proving God was a lier about him wanting for us all to live and make our own choices. Of course, it didn't work, and he got even more mad at God.
He uses his power to lull people into thinking that little sins are ok, so when the big ones come up, it isn't so much of a stretch. He wants us all to be as miserable and unhappy as he is. That's the only thing he can do now to get back at God for what He did to him.
Lucifer means "chosen angel", he is now not allowed to have that name, hence the reason it was changed to Satan.
The other spirits that went with him will also never get bodies. They chose to follow a plan that was against what God wanted, so they gave up the option to have bodies. They are mad because of this. They do Satan's bidding to bring about his plan- misery and meyham.
Satan knows us all, knows our spirits. He knows our weaknesses and stregthens and know how to use them against us. He hates all of us for what we have that he will never have, and is working towards using us against God. The more of us he can sway to his side, the less God gets in the end. If you don't think this is true, just look at the world today. It is the worst it has ever been, and don't think that he isn't sitting back and laughing at us. He is, and he likes what he sees.

Lucifer means the light bearer, and refers to the planet Venus. Venus, known today as the morning star, comes before the sun rises, and was therefore thought of in ancient cultures to be the being that brought light into the world.
Somewhere along the line, I'm not sure where, the name became associated with Gods angel that fell from grace.

Pagan, pre-dates Christianity, adopted by early church as ploy to absorb, and repel alternative beliefs. The `light -bringer`(Lucifer) was Pagan, supporting Pagan cults related to activity of Sun, Venus, and Moon. The Christians vilified Lucifer, then declared him evil. What`s new ?

Lucifer is the name given to the Christian Deity of evil. A widely held opinion is that during the Inquisition his likeness was based off of the Celtic God of Nature, Cernunnos so that the Church could persecute pagans as "devil worshipers" to kill them and rob them of their land if they didn't convert.

What I know about Luicfer hmm....
Just as God is real, the devil also is real, he works through temptation, deceives and greed..he knows our weaknesses and strengths, to have faith in God is our only means to keep the devil out where he belongs...it is up to each individual to exercise our free will.
''Luicfer don't stand a chance with our heavenly father in our lives''
God Bless

I try to give him little thought.
The Bible eludes to the fact that He fell from Heaven, with 1/3 of the angels, as the leader of a rebellion. Jesus said he saw that happen.
He is called many things, including the "accuser" - he is always bringing charges against followers of Christ, to the Throne of God . . . whom are being represented by Jesus (a great lawyer).
He is finite, and 'out of bullets', but convincing people that He is all Power-full is a favorite trick he uses . . . just one of his lies . . . after all . . . he is called the father of lies.
